Cancer has impacted Mrs Mildred Tan’s life. She lost her father and 2 aunts to cancer. “For me it was important to create greater awareness on cancer and joining Singapore Cancer Society as a Council Member was a worthwhile cause,” said Mrs Tan, when asked what motivated her to support SCS.

Mrs Tan played a pivotal role in partnership with Singtel for sponsoring SCS’ signature event Race Against Cancer, which is one of the longest standing and largest charity runs in Singapore since it first started in 2009.

She believes that SCS will continue to serve the cancer community better and help those impacted by cancer to lead a meaningful life. She added, “With cancer on the rise, we should step up and increase the public awareness on it. Everyone should play a part in this.”
