SCS was part of a press conference organised by Breast Cancer Foundation on 24 September. This year’s theme, ‘Every Woman Matters’ a TV commercial, and a new pink ribbon pin were unveiled. Dr Tan Chuan Chien, Chairman of the SCS BCAM Committee was part of the panel. He shared with the media about the $25 funding assistance for mammogram screening that SCS provides at 54 participating breast screening centres.

SCS participated in over 5 public forums organised by our partners to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of going for regular screening. SCS distributed FIT (Faecal Immunochemical Test) Kits and registered participants for Mammogram screenings and Pap smear tests to be conducted at SCS Clinic at Bishan at no cost.
One such event organised in collaboration with Khoo Teck Puat Hospital saw over 200 participants. Radiographers, Breast Specialist, Clinic Psychologist, Dietitian and survivors came together to educate the audience on how to reduce breast cancer risk.

SCS was part of the BCAM launch at the Pink Ribbon Walk!
Nee Soon Central IAEC in collaboration with SCS organised a cancer awareness event to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month. About 70 people participated in the community event. Grassroots Adviser, Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Social and Family Development & Ministry of Education, joined the event as Guest-of-Honour.
The day started with an energetic Bollydazz Workout by Sonia from Team Axis, followed by a quiz session based on the info provided at the SCS education booth. There were also ongoing game activities.
Residents who were 50 years old and above, were able to collect FIT Kit at no cost. There was also onsite registration for Pap Smear and Mammogram screenings for Singaporeans and PRs, where residents will be able to get screened at the SCS Clinic @Bishan on any other day at no cost.
Participants also attended an informative and interactive breast cancer awareness talk by Dr Radhika Lakshmanan from Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
