Announcing Our Esteemed Patron: President Tharman Shanmugaratnam

We are honoured to welcome the President of the Republic of Singapore as the Patron of the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS). 

In a landmark moment, President Tharman released a recorded message on 4 February 2024, in conjunction with World Cancer Day, urging Singaporeans to lead a healthy lifestyle and stay up to date with cancer screenings. This message not only amplified our collective voice in the fight against cancer but marked the official announcement of President Tharman’s patronage to SCS.

President Tharman's support is a testament to the national and community solidarity needed to overcome cancer, the number one cause of death in Singapore.

SCS expresses its profound gratitude to President Tharman for joining us in the collective fight against cancer. Together, may we continue to minimise cancer and maximise lives.
