Clinic Assistant


Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Clinic Assistant plays an important role in enabling patients to benefit from cancer screening (saves lives). She attends to patients at triage phase, giving the assurance that SCS journeys with them whatever the test outcomes; clinic team being their first-point-of-contact when assistance is required. She liaises with hospitals to arrange appointments for SCS referral cases, ensures patients receive results promptly. Provides assistance to doctor during screening & status update of referred patients where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient’s information is captured in CRM and manage queries at triage phase, and patient / parental consent is received prior to conduct of screening / vaccination
  • Explain the “SCS Journeys with You”’ message to assure patients that SCS provides relevant support / assistance when need arises - clinic team is patients’ first point-of-contact
  • Ensure sufficient medical supplies are readily available in consultation room & assist doctor where applicable
  • Ensure specimen collection is carried out daily and all screening cases accounted for
  • Check on referred patient status to follow up on assistance where applicable
  • Support off-site screening / vaccination or screening roadshows when required
  • Issue FIT kits to patients / members of public


Job Requirements

  • Minimum ‘O’ Levels with relevant working experience
  • Enrolled Nurse preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel) to ensure efficiency in patient information capturing and retrieval
  • Good communication skills & able to effectively interact with people ie all ages/ races, especially senior citizens
  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Confident and takes pride in work done
  • Customer centric disposition
  • Team player 
  • Able to work on weekends when need arises
  • Bilingual
  • Preferably able to speak at least a Chinese dialect
  • Fluent in at least 2 languages ie English & Mandarin or English & Malay
  • Communication skills
  • Planning & Organising skills

Reporting to the Manager, you shall oversee the Help the Children and Youth Programme (HCYP), provide support for clients impacted by cancer and coordinate the SCS Transport Services.
