This range of Chinese artwork on rice paper has been kindly donated by Mr Ling Yang Chang for SCS’ exclusive use, to help raise funds in aid of needy cancer patients.
Mr Ling has been generously supporting the poor and needy in the community by donating some of his art for charity. He recently contributed his paintings to the Society’s Tee for Cancer Charity Golf 2009 auction, raising a total of $11,000.

About the Artist
Born in Singapore in 1963, Mr Ling Yang Chang graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from National University of Singapore in 1987. In 1992, he completed his Master of Economics Studies at James Cook University, Australia, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Education in 1993 at National Institute of Education, Singapore. In the last 20 years, Mr Ling has been involved in many aspects of art making and is a famous and well-respected local artist today. He has participated in more than 30 exhibitions around the world.
Mr Ling started his art career in traditional Chinese painting, moving into western art at a later stage in life. His specialties are Contemporary Chinese Art, as well as Modern and Abstract Painting. He also carves his own seals and develops his own calligraphically writings. One can find a delicate balance of Chinese and Western influences in Mr Ling’s work.
Mr Ling is currently an art educator who teaches art in both Eastern and Western mediums. He also plays an active role in the local art community as a member of the Singapore Art Society, the Modern Art Society of Singapore and the Siow-Tao Chinese Seal-Carving Calligraphy & Painting Society (Singapore).
