To confirm the diagnosis, a series of investigations that include:

  1. Blood Test for AFP. This tumour market is often raised in liver cancer patients.

  2. Ultrasound Scan, CT Scans and MRI Scans. These are used to confirm the presence and extent of liver cancer.

  3. Angiography. It is a test to study the blood flow to liver cancer and often performed to study the operability of the cancer.

  4. Biopsy of the HCC. A piece of the cancer is obtained for microscopic examination to confirm the cancer.
