Singapore Heart Foundation (www.myheart.org.sg)
As Singapore’s only heart health charity, the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) takes a proactive role in promoting national heart health in the community. Established in 1970, SHF fulfills its mission through education programmes highlighting to the public the preventive measures of heart disease. For recovering heart patients, SHF focuses on their rehabilitative care in its cardiac rehab centre. SHF also gives financial assistance to needy heart patients who do not have the means to pay for treatment, and fund research on the causes, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. The Chairman of the Singapore Heart Foundation is Dr Low Lip Ping.

The SHF mission is to promote heart health, prevent and reduce disability and death due to cardiovascular diseases and stroke. SHF’s vision is to be a leading heart health movement in the region and a household name in Singapore through:

Educating and motivating the public,
Assisting those affected, and
Promoting and supporting research in the field





Singapore Cancer Society (www.singaporecancersociety.org.sg)
Established in 1964, Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) is a self-funding voluntary welfare organization wholly dedicated to champion the fight against cancer. Its mission is to prevent and control cancer through screening and public education services, and to enhance the well-being of needy cancer patients through welfare and patient care services.

SCS plays a leading role in the promotion of cancer prevention and control by providing free cancer screening to members of the public, organising public talks and forums on cancer prevention and management as well as funding cancer researches.

Its services have extended to include looking after the special needs of cancer patients and their families. This includes the provision of financial assistance to help needy cancer patients with their daily needs and treatment costs, hospice home care for terminally ill cancer patients and rehabilitation support for cancer patients and survivors. The Chairman of the Singapore Cancer Society is Dr Koo Wen Hsin.
