HOW YOU CAN HELP US
The Singapore Cancer Society is an independent voluntary welfare
organization.
We are self-funded, receiving no grants from the Community Chest. We depend on public contributions and support to carry on the good work for cancer sufferers and the community. While we try to
organize a few fundraising projects each year to cover some of our expenses, we seek your kind assistance in giving us the much-needed support. Your generous donation will provide funds for research, public education, patient services and help improve the quality of life of cancer patients.

VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are the most valuable resource to the Society, the support of
volunteers is integral to the efforts of the Society to prevent and
control cancer and enhance the lives of people suffering from cancer.

Corporations
Corporate volunteerism is important to us, if you are from a
corporation, you can make a difference in the community. Here are some
suggestions;
- Organise fund-raising events / activities for the society
- Adopt our patients and be a corporate befriender
- Organise activities / programmes for cancer patients and their
families
- Support talks or forums to promote cancer awareness to the
community
Volunteering is a positive way to support the community and people
affected by cancer. Enthusiasm and a desire to help are the only
qualifications you need.

Read What Our Volunteers
Have To Say:
"I
have always wanted to do volunteer work but always placed it
on hold because of hectic work schedules. It was only after
I lost my beloved god mom to cancer that made me review my thoughts
and took actions on it. Her death made me chose Singapore Cancer
Society as my volunteer centre.
I
came across the volunteer brochure at the Terry Fox run registration
and hence wrote in.
I
am a volunteer in the fund raising projects. At every event,
it is comforting to see the public respond generously with donations
as well as purchasing items that we sell. To know my little
time spent in getting such funds keeps the society going is
reason enough for me to continue to participate.
I
have great admiration for the staff whom are working in this
organisation now. Their jobs are not glamorous but they make
a great difference in the lives of the less fortunate. They
are just simple people with simple lifestyles working for a
simple cause in life. It is my pleasure to work with them. Cheers
to all of them!!"
