1964 Singapore Cancer Society was formed by individuals from the Rotary Club of Singapore, the Lions Club and the Jaycees.
1965 Society was officially registered with the Registry of Societies. The first education campaign, "The Eight Warning Signs of Cancer", was launched.
1966 Society was admitted to the global cancer organisation, International Union Against Cancer (UICC). His Excellency, Encik Yusof bin Ishak, then President of Singapore, gave consent to be its first Patron.
1967 Temporary office premise was set up at Cancer Information Centre, Singapore General Hospital. A Welfare Committee was formed.
1969 The Pap Smear Screening Clinic was opened.
1973 The Reach to Recovery Programme, a rehabilitation and support group for mastectomies was established. The Cancer Research Fund was launched.
1975 Society moved to Peace Centre and hosted the 2nd Asia Pacific Cancer Conference.
1976 The Stoma Rehabilitation Committee was formed.
1979 The Smoking Cessation Clinics were launched.
1980 Society moved to new premise at Realty Centre.
1984 The Helping Hands Committee was formed and the New Voice Club for laryngectomees and Listener's Group, a phone-counselling service came under its purview.
1987 The Hospice Group was launched.
1993 Society became the beneficiary of the annual Terry Fox Run, a fund-raising project for Cancer Research.
1994 Society took over the management of the Jonathan Tan Fund, in aid of leukemia children.
1998 Society organised the UICC Workshop on "Nasopharyngeal Cancer".
1999 Society organised the conference on "Threats of Tobacco on Children & Youth".
2000 Society hosted the 13th Biennial Congress of the World council of Enterostomal Therapists (WCET) : Theme - Enterostomal Therapy - Onto the 21st Century. Organized the "Relay For Life".
2001 Society hosted the 3rd UICC Cancer Management Meeting: Theme- Quality Cancer Care in the New Millennium.
2002 Society launched the 1st Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March - Opening of Cancer Screening & Education Centre @ Boon Keng.
2004 Society marked its 40th anniversary with its inaugural The Cancer Charity Show to raise funds for the cancer cause as well as to promote cancer awareness within the community.
2005 The Singapore Cancer Society Fund was launched in April to help needy cancer patients with their treatment costs.

A Singapore Cancer Society Centre was also set up at the National Cancer Centre Singapore for the convenience of the patients applying for assistance through this Fund.
2006

Launch of inaugural Gastric Cancer forum, which was held jointly with National University Hospital in conjunction with the 1st Asia Pacific Gastric Cancer Conference

2007

Launch of the first Head & Neck Cancer Awareness Week held at the HDB Hub, Toa Payoh

Themed “Hope for Tomorrow – a little compassion goes a long way”, the second The Cancer Charity Show was organised to raise funds in support of SCS’ programmes
2009

Inaugural Race Against Cancer was launched in August.

The SCS Help the Children and Youth Programme was also set up to help children and youth whose lives have been affected by cancer.
