Fraud Alert

We have been alerted by members of the public that an individual posing as a volunteer from Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) has been going from door-to-door soliciting cash donations. The 1.7-metre tall fair-skinned Chinese man appears to be in his mid-20s and was last seen wearing a golf cap, polo t-shirt and jeans. He was reported to be operating in Alexandra Road, Queensway and Strathmore Avenue. He carried a fundraising letter printed on plain paper and a transparent plastic folder which contained cash. He also issued a generic receipt for donations collected. Click here to find out what precautions you can take to protect yourself from fraud.

Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month 2014

Colorectal cancer is the number 1 cancer in Singapore, especially among those aged 50 and above. Screening for colorectal cancer should begin from the age of 50 for those with no symptoms. The FIT (Faecal Immunochemical Test) checks your stool for blood that cannot be seen by the naked eye to detect signs of cancer. If you are a Singaporean or a Permanent Resident above the age of 50 and have not gone for colorectal screening in the past year, you may collect a free FIT kit from SCS and our partner distribution locations. For enquiries, please contact us at 6499 9133 (Mon - Fri: 8.30am to 6.00pm), cancerscreening@singaporecancersociety.org.sg

Free Pap Smear

Cervical cancer is the ninth most common cancer among women in Singapore. The Pap smear is a simple medical procedure used to detect early changes in the cells of the cervix which might become cancerous. SCS provides free Pap smear screening to female Singaporeans and Permanent Residents above the age of 25. Terms and conditions apply. For enquiries, please contact us at 6499 9133 (Monday - Friday: 8.30am to 6.00pm) or cancerscreening@singaporecancersociety.org.sg
